Nice place and people. One of the guys at the counter looks like Brad Pitt... lol seriously! Atmosphere very comfortable. Initially they took about 25 minutes to come back to tell me that they couldn't figure out what was wrong with the A/C and that to do a diagnosis it would be $126.00. I paid it. Approximately, less than an hour went by, Brad-Pitt look a like came back and told me it would cost $1,225.00 in a nutshell to fix my A/C. And to be honest, I felt a little double-talk around whether or not the $1,225.00 would solve the problem and get my air conditioning back running! Unfortunately, to fix my resistor and blower motor (for my A/C), the price quoted was higher than the dealership but only by a few dollars or so. Although, if I do select them to fix my car, I would receive a three year warranty, and Roadside Assistance (part of the price of $1,225.00 to fix my car I'm assuming), and a free loaner at the time of service. Something to factor in is that for me $701.00 for labor alone is extremely over-priced for a simple job. I always do homework before getting a quote for anything. The price for the parts were literally double (or more) then if you purchased the parts from a place like Auto Zone. The flip side to all of this is that if you don't want to deal with the friendly local mechanic, you would want a professional to do the work. If you don't mind the higher price to get your car fixed then you could go there. I didn't let them fix my car, but that's just my personal choice.

I appreciated the expertise and professionalism of Jon Adams. I feel he and his team did a great job of checking out my new purchase...a 2005 Subaru Outback. They went over it from head to toe and they educated me on my purchase. I did buy the car and I really like it. Thanks, David P.

This review may get a little long. If you are looking for cheap or lease your vehicle or don’t plan on keeping your vehicle for at least a couple of years you may skip this dialogue. I’m an aircraft mechanic. I don’t give reviews lightly. I usually wait a month or so to see if the work holds up. The system got a damn good workout. If things change I will update this review. Honest 1 had my truck all day. While they wait on parts and components they move several other jobs through. DUH. When I picked it up the first thing I noticed was the engine quiet and lack of vibration I was used to. Another clue. Work Performed 07/05/2017 A/C compressor catastrophic failure. Contaminated HP side of the system. 07/06/02017 Day one. Drove CLT to Trenton, NC (5 hours). I stopped 3 times for various reasons. Ran A/C system on ‘Auto’ with temp set for 74. OAT (outside air temp) began at 84, increased to 93 by the time I passed through LBT. Duct temp steady at 48 !! If you don’t have a $5 meat or A//C thermometer you can’t monitor your system. Buy one with a probe you can stick into your A/C duct. I bought this truck in 2011 and the A/C NEVER cooled this well. I hope it continues. OK, Honest 1 is not cheap. You will get value though. The garage has all the usual tools and equipment (well over a million dollars I would guess). They offer an incredible warranty on most work, only use high quality parts and components and are fairly quick without skipping over the details. Often a mechanical problem has other related issues. Once your vehicle is opened up there may be secondary or tertiary parts that should be replaced while it is easy to do (called preventive maintenance). The most important resource Honest 1 has is their PEOPLE. It costs $ to hire and keep competent mechanics with attention to detail. This is my second experience with Honest 1 and I will return again when I have an issue I can’t or don’t care to tackle.

The team at Honest-1 diagnosed the problem with my vehicle and fixed it in a timely manner. They even stayed open after normal closing time to ensure the job was completed that day.

Thank your for your business Matt.

I had an appointment at 9:00 and showed up a few minutes late 9:07 to be exact for an oil change. I was greated promptly and with a smile. My car was brought into the shop within 10 minutes and the mechanic started to work on my oil change and another car as well.As we rounded the 1 hour mark I started to wonder what was taking so long as I had noticed 2 other cars that came in after me for oil chganges were finished up. I looked into the garage I happen to notice the mechanic was no longer working on either car instead he was checking in on his phone. This went on for about 10 minutes and then he started to share some sort of photos with the other mechanics in the garage That went on for another 5 or so minutes. I recived a phone call and let the Service advisor know I had to be leaving soon and could we finish up. He accomidated with asking the mechanic to finish up. The car was finished up and delivered to a parking spot.By the time I had dropped off the car and the oil change was completed we totaled One hour and fourty five minutes. This was my first visit here, not sure if I will come back. The shop was a bit busy but not crazy. I do appreciate that this garage wants to do a good job,but 1:45 for an iol change is a bit long.

2 new Michelin tires + alignment cost me 29% LESS here than same two tires purchased two years earlier at nearby AAA. Plus H-1 has a much nicer wait area and got it done FAST. This place rocks!

Thank you for your business Randy.

I've read a few reviews here and I can definitely attest to this place living up to its name: I came in with my 2012 VW Golf GTI with a check engine light on. After driving me home to wait at no extra charge, about an hour later I received a phone call about the status of my vehicle. The intake manifold sensor had an issue and needed to be replaced, resulting in a work order for around $1040. A lot to swallow for a sensor replacement on a Wednesday afternoon. After I had already givien him the go ahead to tear my engine apart and charge me a grand, Gregg the owner personally took the time to research the part and the issue, found that it was a known issue and covered under extended manufacturer warranty, and let me know that if I took my car to A VW dealership it would be totally free. He even made arrangements at Carolina VW for me! He could easily have just charged me for the work and kept that information to himself. That simple phone call made a customer for life! Thank you for your Honesty Gregg!
